Brief Description:
Lead measurement practice center of excellence for the business unit. This position involves defining best practices & processes in software measurement. As a lead for the business unit’s metric center, you will apply your knowledge of metrics to initiate, lead, implement, and evaluate initiatives related to tasks associated with software measurement. In addition, you will be expected to develop metrics that provide a means for evaluating the effectiveness of these initiatives.
Detailed Description: The position includes planning, selecting, and defining measures, institutionalizing measurement practices, coaching managers from various work functions, deriving insights from metrics, , evaluationg metric effectiveness and usage in accomplishing business goals (i.e, define metrics for the metrics), and implementing scorecards. Primary focus will be on metrics for development organization, but will also expand to include other divisions.
Job Requirements:
Leads a specialized area which may have diverse functional elements.
Frequently interacts with supervisors and/or functional peer group managers.
May interact with senior management.
Works with multiple functional areas, including development, sales, support, and marketing.
Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.
Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of software measurement principles.
Preferred Qualifications: BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.
Additional Details:
Profile:- BE/ME/B.Tech/M.Tech/MCA/MBA or equivalent from a reputed institute or university
- Strong statistical and analytic skills.
- Minimum of 10-15 years experience in metrics- Good people management skills
- Experience in software measurement
- Solid understanding of different measurement methodologies, the sources for errors in measurement, the criteria for selecting measurements, and criteria for judging the success of different criteria in achieving business goals.
- Strong knowledge and experience in various techniques for defining effective metrics for different functional areas and specifically, for different software development lifecycles
- Experience to establish software quality requirements, Identify software quality metrics, Implement the software quality metrics, Analyze the software metrics results & Validate the software quality metrics
- Strong business communication and presentation skills
- Experience in all phases of implementing balanced scorecards
- Experience in healthcare and life sciences industry is an added advantage
- Strong background in the area of software quality metrics methodology to establish in a systematic approach the quality requirements and identifying, implementing, analyzing, and validating the process and metrics across organizational divisions.
Job description:
- Analyze existing problems and opportunities to improve in the area of metrics by aligning to the organizational objectives
- Establish mechanism to make sure the quality of the actual data measured and recorded is of good quality
- Systematically analyze and propose initiatives
- Review the proposal with senior management
- Define the operational plan to implement the proposal
- Conduct training for individuals responsible for implementing and analyzing metrics.
- Conduct training and/or review training of individuals collecting metrics.
- Assess proposals for new metrics.
- Perform checkpoints to check the implementation of the practices and processes
- Implement metrics and periodically evaluate effectiveness of the metrics for achieving organizational objectives.
